ACCOMPLISHMENTS
As I complete 30 YEARS of service to the City of Murrieta as both a volunteer and the last four years as your Council Member, I am truly HONORED to serve the residents of Murrieta. Helping others and problem solving are two of my passions.
I have UNIQUE qualifications that have not only helped me serve Murrieta over the years but will continue to be beneficial moving forward:
1) As a VETERAN, I am able to be a problem solver, looking at issues from different perspectives while building consensus with my colleagues.
2) With 30 years of FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE as a successful investment advisor and business owner, I am able to “follow the money” to make certain that Murrieta is financially sound and fiscally responsible.
3) As a LONGTIME RESIDENT, being first introduced to Murrieta in 1964, I have significant historical knowledge of the small-town Murrieta was and how it became the vibrant family community it is today.
Key accomplishments from my time serving as your Council Member:
1) Successfully fought to bring back the MURRIETA SANTA STOPS.
2) Recommended an investment change that added $500,000 to Murrieta’s revenue.
3) Obtained agreement from Caltrans to give Murrieta control over the freeway TRAFFIC signals.
4) Requested that Murrieta re-engage our State Lobbyist to have a stronger VOICE in Sacramento.
As I continue to work hard for Murrieta, one project that I am focused on is to place a California Constitutional Amendment on a future ballot to give cities a voice regarding land use, density, and zoning. Sacramento shouldn’t be able to force one-size-fits-all legislation upon cities without the city’s ability to have meaningful input on how it should be accomplished.
My TOP PRIORITIES remain public safety, including both police and fire fighter/paramedics, financial transparency and accountability, and maintaining and improving the quality of life we all enjoy in Murrieta.
